Breakfast Eggs

Oftentimes when I want to save some calories in the morning I use egg whites instead of regular eggs for my breakfast. In this recipe, I want to show you the base for a cheese omelette that you can customize by filling it with your preferred ingredients.

Egg White Omelette (top)

I mostly use ham as a filling, but you can also try onions or other vegetables. To save some more calories, I use a cheese that is slightly lower in fat but I suppose you can also go with regular cheese.

After cooking, I top the omelette with sriracha or ketchup and then serve it with some toast or just eat it plain.

This is a very simple recipe and the hardest part is actually cooking the omelette, without it getting ripped apart.

When cooking a regular omelette, most people will tell you it should never get golden on the bottom. For the egg white omelette, I actually like to cook it this way because I think it tastes, and it also looks better.

Description:

Cheesy Egg White Omelette that you can customize!

Ingredients:

250g
liquid egg whites
50g
cheese (fat reduced)
1 pinch
salt
1 pinch
pepper

Instructions:

  1. Cook egg whites

Spray your pan with nonstick cooking spray and then pour in the egg whites. Cook them on high heat until they start to set and then reduce the heat to medium, so they do not burn.

Depending on your stove and pan, it can take a while until the egg whites are not runny anymore.

  2. Fill the omelette

When the top of the omelette is not runny anymore, put your cheese on one half of the omelette and add some salt and pepper.

You can then go ahead and add some more fillings if you want to!

  3. Fold omelette and serve

After filling, fold the omelette and let it cook for another 30-60s, so the cheese can melt.

Now you can serve the omelette and enjoy!
